D'Abruzzo

D'Abruzzo is a musical family
now in its 2nd generation. The irresistible combination of energy &
experience is the reason why Maurice & Aaron D'Abruzzo are turning
heads with their unique brand of latin soul - a saucy blend of latin
rhythms, topped with sizzling rock n soul vocals. On hearing them for
the first time, George Negus (legendary Australian TV presenter)
declared: "D'Abruzzo - they don't come much cooler than that!"
‘Up on the
Beat’ is the latest musical offering from Maurice and Aaron
D’Abruzzo. On hearing them for the first time, the legendary
George Negus said, “D’Abruzzo, they don’t come
much cooler than that!”. “Up On The Beat”, fuses the
‘cool’ with the ‘hot’, creating a saucy blend
of Latin rhythms & sizzling rock & soul vocals or ‘Latin
Soul’, as defined by the hippest father/son duo in town. This is
an album to start a party with, yet retains the deep musicality that
has been a feature of this extraordinary musical family. “Up On
The Beat” will have you up on your feet with its funky,
spine-tingling and complex rhythms. ‘Step into the Light’
wouldn’t sound out of place in a Gospel church, ‘No Way To
Stop’ crosses musical boundaries at the speed of light and
‘Walk Tight’ is up there with the Soul classics.Up On The
Beat’ features some classy players. Along with Maurice D'Abruzzo
on vocals, guitars, keyboards, & assorted percussion, Aaron
D’Abruzzo on vocals and bass, special guests include the
ABC’s James Valentine (The Models), who features on sax on
several tracks; Vicente Sebastian (Watussi), congas, percussion; Adrian
K (Aust. Opera & Ballet), violin ; Philippe Lincy (Papa Mbaye),
